The title above is a quote from former New Jersey Governor and 9/11 Commission head, Tom Kean, concerning the stunning revelation that NORAD and Pentagon officials may have provided “knowingly false” testimony.

You know, one of those “loose ends” that if tied would actually answer perhaps the most important question of 9/11: Why didn’t NORAD intercept any of the planes involved?

The same Mr. Kean, by the way, who on Charlie Rose, after the commission delivered its report, echoed an absurd Condi Rice talking point by saying ~nobody could have imagined using airplanes as missiles.~

As is being reported today, Vanity Fair has an amazing article out that details the initial response by NORAD and provides never-before heard NORAD audio tapes and transcripts.

BOSTON CENTER: Hi. Boston Center T.M.U. [Traffic Management Unit], we have a problem here. We have a hijacked aircraft headed towards New York, and we need you guys to, we need someone to scramble some F-16s or something up there, help us out.
POWELL: Is this real-world or exercise?
BOSTON CENTER: No, this is not an exercise, not a test.

WATSON: What?

DOOLEY: Whoa!

WATSON: What was that?

ROUNTREE: Is that real-world?
DOOLEY: Real-world hijack.
WATSON: Cool!

And just ~ten minutes later, the first plane hit the World Trade Center.

Definitely read the whole thing.
